I’m into week eight of this exercise class that has been around for awhile, but is new at my gym. It’s called Pound and it’s a lot of fun! I’ve heard of it before but it wasn’t yet available at my gym. I’m already paying a gym membership fee, so paying extra to attend this class elsewhere, isn’t calling to me. If you’re familiar with the Muppets and especially the Muppets character Animal, there’s a point in the class when I feel like Animal. While we’re sitting on our mats with our feet out in front of us, twisting side to side while working on our abs, our drumsticks (not the yummy eating kind) smack our mats so hard, that by the time the song is over, our hands and fingers are sore. Animal would be proud. It’s so enjoyable, that I’ve passed this info on to the middle school P.E. teacher and she’s checking into getting certified and if financially feasible, getting the necessary materials for the class. The kids would love and this and they would be exercising without thinking, “Mother of Moses, if I do one more pushup, I’m gonna die.” Here’s a link to check it our for yourself, https://poundfit.com/about/.
The paragraph about exercise leads me into this next topic; stink, funk, poofah. While exercising or if we’re out in the yard doing yardwork, we humans tend to perspire, which leads to possible B.O. or for some unfortunate folks, B.B.O. (courtesy of Seinfeld). I’ve found two natural deodorants that work well and smell great!
Schmidt’s, I found at Target. You can also find it at Costco in a two pack but I haven’t seen this specific lime scent. When you heat up, it smells like lime popsicle. Well, that’s the feedback that Little Lady gets from her friends during P.E. class. Not only is the smell not B.O., but it’s a pleasant smell of summer! Yee-haw!
This spray on deodorant pictured above, Crystal, I bought at Fred Meyer. It has a nice smell but is kinda a pain to wait for the armpits to dry, even in the arid Idaho air. I’ve got things to do! I can’t be cruising around my house with my elbows launched up in the air to allow for a mellow breeze to help this spray on deodorant adhere and keep me smelling chamomile and green tea fresh, ya know? Anyhoo, it’s still nice and natural but my vote is for the Schmidt’s deodorant above. The spray deodorant is a good backup, however.
Alrighty. If you get a chance to try out a Pound class at your local gym, do it! It’s a fun way to incorporate abs, hiney, legs, upper body and coordination (I’ve been known to lose my balance when we’re going really fast and almost tip over. I rock.) while burning calories! And, if you’ve got a bad funky-funk smell emitting from your pit region, try one of these deodorants! Giddyup!
