This lanyard with my teacher photo i.d., is from 12 years ago when I was one of numerous staff members to open up another new school in the district where I taught. Those two black spots on the right side of my face aren’t sudden freckles or moles; those spots are hard earned teensy Crayon pieces. That’s right, I earned those babies from teaching first graders and Kindergarteners. A loving yet emotional group of people who at times, have limbs and Crayons flailing akimbo. Therefore, the explanation of the Crayon dustings. I’ve been home full time for five years now, so I get to hang with my own little group of small people. Crayon dustings are still in full force. Giddyup!
To celebrate these classroom warriors, and believe me, do I have stories that justify this title, this is Teacher Appreciation Week! A small gift or even a kind note to your child’s teacher is something that is greatly appreciated! At Little Lady and Little Red’s school, the PTO is in full swing this week to honor these folks.
Here are some businesses that are also partaking of this week:
*Chick-fil-A
*Chipotle
*Cici’s Pizza
*World of Beer (what teacher couldn’t use a visit here? ha.)
*Bruegger’s Bagels
*Costco (teachers get a discount on the membership fee at sign up during this week)
*MOD Pizza
*PDQ (not sure what this is but if it’s in your area, go for it!)
Be sure to tell your child’s/children’s teachers thank you this week! Rock on, crouton!

Honestly, even a kind note or a card thanking your children’s teacher is meaningful also. I’ve saved ever note, card and printed email from an appreciative parent. Those truly are treasures! As a former teacher, thank you for thanking educators! You’re a great mom! I’d have loved to have your kids in my classroom!
