We are definitely dog people. For proof, here’s a list of our sweet dogs:
*Chico and Muneco, two wonderful border Collie/Australian shepherd mixes from my family’s ranch (we were their retirement program).
*Tweed, a border Collie/Australian shepherd that I chose to adopt with 10 minutes remaining until the shelter’s closing. He’d been abused but with patience and lots of loves, he came around to trust us.
*Emmy, a Collie/Sheltie mix from the shelter in my hometown that Mister didn’t really want me to adopt because we already had Chico and Tweed. It wasn’t long before Mister was smitten with this girl.
*Lucy, a border Collie/German shepherd mix, was adopted after Chico passed away then his half-brother Muneco,
*Maggie, a stout Australian shepherd, was spotted by Mister on his company e-mail who’d originally been dumped at a ranch.
*Allie, a stray a family in a neighboring town found her behind their house, joined us about two weeks after Lucy’s passing. She came to us with an atrophied hind leg, probably from being thrown out of a moving vehicle.
*Lily, a Jack Russell Terrier mix from the shelter in my hometown. We added this puppy to our family when Little Man was three months old because that’s what you do when you have a newborn. Ha.
*Lottie, an Idaho Fuzzy Face (border Collie, Australian shepherd, cow dog & Airedale mix), our latest addition from the shelter in my hometown, as of last Friday.
Here are some pictures of the newest member of the family, Lottie, who’s actually, Little Red’s dog. Lily is Little Lady’s dog and Little Red has been begging us for a cat but we were able to entice her with the idea of a dog. Giddyup! She’s a winner!
And finally . . .
Only Maggie, Allie, Lily and now Lottie are with us. The others have all acquired their angel wings. Some people feel it’s awful how these sweet animals aren’t with us for long. I agree, yet the silver lining is that it gives us so many more opportunities to bring in more loyal, always pumped to see us, loving pets. It’s a win-win.
