I have been hearing about Halloween costumes since February. No joke. Little Red is very enthusiastic about life in general, I totally appreciate that quality, and therefore, begins planning out her Halloween costume as soon as she’s leaving her classroom Valentine’s Day party for the day. Little Lady is more of a wait and see kinda gal. Little Man is in love with the color green so he went with Peter Pan. Next year, he’s thinking he’ll be the Incredible Hulk. Oh boy.
The morning started with making them purple, eyeball pancakes. This breakfast staple hasn’t been a staple this school year with Little Lady needing to be at school much earlier than Little Red (driving doesn’t allow for pancake flipping time). So on top of it being Halloween themed food, it was a special occasion breakfast. See below.
Little Red’s school made an excellent decision this school year and had this week as spirit week. The students and staff dressed according to the theme for the day which made Halloween so much easier and fun! In the past, the school my little chicks attend/attended and schools where I taught, would have kids bring their costumes to school to then change into at the end of the day. I always thought this was so much more work than just letting everyone accept that the day is indeed Halloween and celebrating it. Besides, trying to keep excited kids calm and focused until the last hour of school is like trying to keep a border collie from herding. Yeah. Pretty darn impossible.
So, Halloween morning at school, Little Red exited my car as Wonder Woman to then head off to trick or treat as one of the Ghostbuster gals! Little Lady was rockin’ her unicorn look and Peter Pan (Little Man) was capturing the hearts of mommies everywhere.

Halloween 2018 was a fun success and we’re already brainstorming ideas for next year. Mister and I would like to go as a theme but the offspring are venturing off with their own ideas. Oh well, we’ve got plenty of time. Plenty. Little Red and Little Lady are thinking otherwise. Ha, ha, ha.
