Little Man came into the house from the backyard later today and announced that I had to come outside “wight now” and try these grapes! Yes, we have grapes growing along part of our wire pasture fencing. In years past, I was able to harvest them and make a nice amount of tasty jam! Then one summer, actually two summers, our goats discovered the grapes and the plans for jam went out the window. Okey doke. Here is a visual progression of Little Man taste testing some more grapes.
Finding the perfect grapes!
The “enlightenment”.
And the final spit out.
Yeah, Little Man couldn’t get those couple of chewed up grapes out soon enough. He was literally clawing them out of his mouth. After observing this garden entertainment, I chose a grape that was ripe. Oh yes, using the old noggin’. Of course, my several decades of being on the planet help with matters of what’s good to eat and what could use a bit more time on the vine. Ha, ha. Something tells me that if there are enough grapes for some homemade jam, Little Man may be skeptical when I go to spread this sweet goodness on some bread.
