Since Mister doesn’t have enough to keep him busy at home with our pasture, garden, fruit trees and having recently built a barn for the goats and donkeys, he decided that the kids needed a fort in an area of the kids’ choosing. That turned out to be the pasture. Besides being half Hungarian, I think he’s also part masochist. This new fort has an enclosed lower level with three windows, a wooden floor and a door. The stairs outside of the lower level lead to the lookout, as Little Red and Little Lady have dubbed it, where they can all scan the horizon. The girls want the fort to have an ocean theme, so it will be painted navy blue with white trim. Going from the conversations I overheard concerning the ocean theme, I also see rope as an accent piece in the fort’s future. All three of the Littles have played in and on it but the kids I see frequenting it more, are the four legged variety. Yep, Lucy and Ethel. Lucy is the black and white goat and Ethel is the all black goat. Jack, brown and black coloring, just hangs outside the lower level, near one of the windows.
I think Little Lady and Little Red are waiting for the ocean theme to appear to become engaged in the whole fort thing. All three are game to help paint the fort, so that should be interesting. Little Man goes everywhere his sisters go, so he may not necessarily be chomping at the bit to enjoy the fort, but he still has fun when they all go out and explore the “sea” that surrounds them. Until the interior designer shows up, Lucy and Ethel have a place to relax enjoy the sunsets.
