Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved spring for the smells of ditches being burned to get ready for carrying water to farm fields, blooming flowers, blooming trees, later sunsets and the off in the distance, the sounds of kids’ baseball and softball games. Spring was also an exciting time because it meant summer was right around the corner. Heck, spring is still an exciting time for me because of how summer is a carefree season; free of getting kids ready for school, no major holidays to prepare for and weather that’s fairly agreeable, other than the height of summer when the fires of hell arrive and kill almost every potted flower and plant. Ha, ha . . .
With flowering almond trees, fruit trees and tulips at our house, it definitely tells the story of spring and it’s such a pretty sight! I absolutely love all the flowers that pop up in our yard every spring! Especially this little, pink tulip that apparently went rogue and struck out on its own. Driving through the valley, there are flowering trees, tulips, daffodils and crocus almost everywhere you look.
Unfortunately, the tulips in our landscaping are beginning to croak. It’s a good thing that I was able to get some pictures before they began to dry up and were ready to be cut down to their bases. We at least still have our flowering trees to admire for a few more days, possibly a week. Until we meet again, you gorgeous things!
