Picture me standing with my arms up in the air and in my most powerful Oprah voice, as if I were announcing that everyone is getting a car (sorry, no one is getting a car), I am declaring that Norwex Cleaning Paste is AMAZING!
I found a teakwood dining table last spring on Craigslist, bought that bad boy, hauled it into the car with Mister’s help and away we drove! Last summer I didn’t get around to sanding, re-staining, yada, yada, because we were doing some remodeling to our house. I’ll go into that at another time. Anyway, this past weekend, I finally got around to working on this “new” table. After sanding with an electric sander, thoroughly wiping it down, it looked ready to stain. I stained the table and left the garage to let the table dry, grabbing the cloths that I’d used to wipe off the sawdust. Once inside, I threw the cloths in the washer, not realizing that the cloth with wood stain on it, was in the mix. Yikes. The photo below, its the cloth with the stain after the wash. This stuff is a mess and has incredible sticking powers!
When the washing cycle was over and I opened the washer door, the stink of wood stain hit me. Poofah (originates from my paternal side and means, smells damn bad). In short, I ran four washes with detergent and Clorox, three washes with vinegar and baking soda with results that weren’t good. The results were downright worrisome. I was really stressed that instead of getting a new refrigerator that we do need, we’d be getting a new washer, which isn’t going to be needed for several years since our current washer is fairly new. Yesterday morning, I saw that inside of the washer drum, the stain had adhered to the parts in the dryer that agitate the clothes, towels, etc. After getting a paper towel wet, because I was done destroying things with wood stain, I rubbed it on one of the agitators to get the stain off. It was working some. Then I came up with the idea of using my Norwex Cleaning Paste. Not only is this stuff eco friendly and safe to use, it’s incredibly effective! I was able to remove all the wood stain and without using any elbow grease! To get into the deep grooves, I used one of the kids’ old toothbrushes (handy to have around for cleaning tight spots) that had been dipped in the paste. Here’s an after photo!
Unfortunately, there are no before photos because I was one worried chick and my only focus was saving the washer, not thinking what a great post this would be for my blog, but man, would it have been great to get a before photo of the disaster! I’ve sung the praises of Norwex products before, http://norwex.com, especially the Norwex Cleaning Paste, but I am announcing how wonderful this stuff is . . . in an Oprah voice!
