For as long as I can remember, winter in Idaho has been synonymous with dry, crackly air. I have memories of being a little girl in bed, waving my wool blanket up and down to see the static electricity that was created. During breaks of being a human remote that I shared with my sister (I’m a child of the shag carpet and the offspring-remote-control era) while my family and I were watching an episode of Who’s the Boss? or Alf, it wasn’t unusual to look down at my hands and see a new crack that was beginning to bleed. Say hello to winter . . . at least in the arid West. At times, during winter, I can feel like I’m rockin’ my looks as well as this snowman pictured above.
I have found the following products to work well at keeping skin and scalp moisturized:
A fellow teacher and friend, introduced me to Neutrogena hand cream and I’m still using it, 20 years later. This hand cream is fantastic at keeping my hands soft and moisturized.
Kiss My Face lotion is thick and works well at permeating dry skin.
Finally, Yes to Carrots nourishing shampoo and conditioner keep my scalp from becoming dry during this dry season.
Alrighty! These are my recommendations for keeping hydrated skin when the air is dry. Now go moisturize!
